Hi and welcome to my online home! I am a photographer located in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm married to my wonderful hubby, Jon, and we have 7 fur babies: Kitty Amazing, Baby Kitty, Petunia, and China, our cats, Hank and Seymour, our dogs, and Junichiro, our hedgehog. Admittedly, Junichiro is more of a spiky baby than a fur baby. I love travel, nutella, donuts, cupcakes, (okay just bring me all the carbs alright?), reading, green tea, soccer, dancing, and soft pillow cases. I love having you, I hope you stay awhile.
“I know of no greater happiness than to be with you all the time, without interruption, without end.” -Franz Kafka
Araselli and Xavier embody this quote. They have been together 9 years, since meeting while attending University of Washington together. Araselli was tasked with helping Xavier with his Spanish. And it’s a good thing he needed that help…. because it led him to his wife.
I came to know Araselli and Xavier through one of my other amazing couples, Steven and Amber. Xavier was a groomsmen in Steven’s wedding last month. So it was so fun to see Xavier and Steven’s rolls reversed.
Although Xavier is also a rapper both writing and creating his beats, he is also internally focused and a man of few, but important words. So when Xavier’s groomsmen talked about Xavier meeting Araselli and how much he lit up at her name and loved talking about her, they knew there was something serious going on. These two bring out the best in each other, and they can communicate without saying a word. But you can feel the love radiating between them, as they enjoy simply being in each other’s presence.
I love hearing about my couples from those closest to them. On of Xavier’s groomsmen was actually his high school professor, who has been a strong influence and support in Xavier’s life. He even created a scholarship in Xavier’s honor, given to students who embody his drive, kindness, compassion, hard work, and intelligence.
The amazing thing is that Araselli embodies all those aspects as well. She’s kind, funny, smart, and hard working. I have no doubt that when these two put their mind to something, it happens.
On the day of their wedding, I arrived at Chamber’s Bay Golf Club in University Place, Washington, with big fluffy clouds in the sky overlooking rolling hills and the Puget Sound. I was very stoked to capture all this beauty!
And speaking of beauty, Araselli was killing it in her wedding gown from David’s Bridal. Xavier must have felt the same way because his tears as he saw his bride walking down the aisle were priceless. Even after 9 years, seeing the emotion Xavier felt at seeing Araselli for the first time tugged at my heart for real guys.
Then came the reception, and I have to say that their first dance really spoke to me. Because after spending a romantic minute slow dancing, in came one of their favorite old school raps so they could get the party started. And being a rap lover myself, you could catch me off to the side shaking it LOL
Thanks for choosing me to capture your day, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you guys do together!
