On the day of Mia and Alejandro’s wedding, I found myself in a glorious English garden.  Where was I you ask? Mia’s Mother’s home in Olympia, Washington! Filled with Bougainvillea, Thistles, and the most gorgeous flower arrangements.  Not to mention that all her neighbors were also proficient gardeners.  So this secluded spot made for the perfect wedding location.

Mia and Alejandro met on Ok Cupid and immediately connected.  After nearly three years, the groom proposed at Lake Serene, one of the couples favorite hikes.

Alejandro’s quiet, loving, and stable spirit was especially needed by Mia this year.  Despite the hardships Mia’s family faced when their beloved Father passed away this Spring, Alejandro was there to help Mia through it.  Sometimes he was there with a strong hug and his quiet spirit, and other times he was there with a funny joke when it was needed.

This beautiful day filled with family and friends in Mia’s childhood home, was the perfect celebration to honor their love, and Mia’s Father’s spirit certainly filled the garden, watching her as she married the love of her life.

This intimate ceremony was filled with wonderful details such as Mia’s childhood best friend, Meredith, officiating the wedding. And as she got tearful as she watched her best friend walk down the aisle in her perfect lace wedding dress, we all got emotional with her!

Alejandro’s brother, Miguel, played the processional on his guitar as Mia walked to marry Alejandro. Alejandro’s other brother, Jose, recited a Spanish poem about love and life.

As the reception got started, the garden was filled with the smell of flowers, cupcakes, and wine (my three favorite things!).  Alejandro and his Mother danced to a traditional Spanish number as Alejandro’s family is from the Galicia region of Spain. Then, Mia turned on “Alejandro” by Lady Gaga because of course the groom had to dance to his namesake song! And dance he did.

The couple spent careful attention to detail as Alejandro’s cuff links were computer chips (I’m probably identifying them wrong, but they definitely were intended to resemble something inside of a computer lol), and Mia wore her Mother’s pearls.

I am so happy I was there to capture every moment of the day, and I know Mia and Alejandro have lots of beautiful moments ahead of them. Cheers!!
