Hi and welcome to my online home! I am a photographer located in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm married to my wonderful hubby, Jon, and we have 7 fur babies: Kitty Amazing, Baby Kitty, Petunia, and China, our cats, Hank and Seymour, our dogs, and Junichiro, our hedgehog. Admittedly, Junichiro is more of a spiky baby than a fur baby. I love travel, nutella, donuts, cupcakes, (okay just bring me all the carbs alright?), reading, green tea, soccer, dancing, and soft pillow cases. I love having you, I hope you stay awhile.
Hey friends! This post is different then my usual. And that’s because I went on a trip to visit and spend time with some of my best friends! And I even got in front of the camera with those friends. Say whhaaa??? Okay it’s not that big of a deal, but as a photographer I am rarely in front of a lens. In fact, I was kind of uncomfortable to say the least. But I’m glad I did it for two reasons. First, I think it made me a better photographer because I realized what it was like to be the one swatting hair out of my face when the wind refused to die down, and I knew what it felt like to be a tad insecure and nervous about how the session was going and how the pictures would turn out. Second, despite all of that, I am so glad I have these amazing pictures to remember my trip by! These make much better memories than my terrible iphone photos by a long shot! P.S. I learned I do not look cute jumping. That is not my thing. Le sigh…
My girl and fellow photog Erinne Sitz, owner of Elosinio Photo. She is located in the Washington D.C. area, so if you are out in that part of the world definitely look her up! All the photo cred in this blog goes to her 😉
This trip was so special to me because my dear friend, Keili, got married to her longtime hunk-a-muffin, Ollie, out in Harrisonburg, Virginia. It was the first time since they moved to Virginia six years ago that I got to visit and see the town she loves so much. And people, she was a gorgeous bride. During the ceremony, I did this cry grunt thing which is basically where you are about to ugly cry so you try to stop yourself by grunting. LOL yes please picture it. We danced the night away until 1:30 a.m., which for me these days, is the party of the century. I’m pretty sure I tore a hip muscle, and I literally lost my voice because I sang so many songs (and rapped epic-ly as well). Keili demanded I just be a guest and not take any photographs during her wedding. And although I was really uncomfortable without my camera (ha!), I am so glad I laid it down and just enjoyed my friends because it was amazing.
After the wedding weekend of the year, my travel buddy and all around amazing gal-pal, Sara, and I, drove to Washington D.C. to see my sister from another mister, Deborah. Since we were going to be in DC for a few days, and I knew my beautiful friends could use a session to get glamorous and remember how fabulous they are, I asked Erinne if she would capture us. Luckily, she said yes!!
The night of the session, we met at the Capitol Building, and it was hot people. And by hot I mean, hot swampy, sweaty ass mess of a day. Being from the west coast, I don’t do humidity well. So we were all feeling on the verge of melting during this session, including poor Erinne. But folks, this session is just proof that even at your sweatiest, you can still rock it. Yaaaasss diva!
We had a blast twirling, shouting inappropriate things at each other, and as you can see in two of the photos, grabbing each other’s boobs. Because, that’s what friends do right?
All hail gal pals!!
