Hi and welcome to my online home! I am a photographer located in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm married to my wonderful hubby, Jon, and we have 7 fur babies: Kitty Amazing, Baby Kitty, Petunia, and China, our cats, Hank and Seymour, our dogs, and Junichiro, our hedgehog. Admittedly, Junichiro is more of a spiky baby than a fur baby. I love travel, nutella, donuts, cupcakes, (okay just bring me all the carbs alright?), reading, green tea, soccer, dancing, and soft pillow cases. I love having you, I hope you stay awhile.
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13
Kaytlin and Kyle worked hard to get to this day. They worked hard at loving one another. At putting one another first. At putting God at the center of their relationship. At being the best parents they can be to their son. And most of you hear the phrase “work hard” and pause. Because out culture doesn’t necessarily spout hard work and marriage in the same sentence. But hard work at making a relationship last, at making your partner and children the best versions of themselves, and of being selfless, now that is a couple that is blessed and a blessing to those around them in turn.
Kaytlin and Kyle had an intimate ceremony at their home church of Mesa Baptist Church. It was a day filled with joy and laughter because this day was a long time coming. I had a great time hanging out with both of them and their friends and family. These two are funny, a bit sarcastic (just like me), and easy going. They are those people you know you can just chill with and have a good time.
This bride was super excited to surprise her bridesmaids once she got on her wedding dress, and the looks I captured on their faces were priceless. I highly recommend a first look with your ladies!
Although Kaytlin wanted Kyle to first see her as she walked down the aisle, the two wanted to pray together prior to their ceremony. Kyle was adamant I not blindfold him as his hair was finally perfect (and it looks great doesn’t it everyone??), so we were on the honor system. But I wasn’t worried because Kyle is just that kind of guy that gives his word and doesn’t break it. So Kyle gets to see this moment for the first time right here! As they prayed together, and Kaytlin got emotional over the words Kyle was sharing privately just for her, my heart was gushing. What a special moment.
During their ceremony, they were able to share many special moments. They sang songs together at the beginning of their ceremony, and concluded it with a foot washing ceremony where Kyle cleansed Kaytlin’s feet in the same way Jesus cleansed the feet of his disciples. It is the ultimate humbling act that we can do for those we love showing them that nothing is too low for us to do for those our heart loves.
As an adorable surprise to the guests, Kaytlin and Kyle also had their son dedicated during their ceremony. And he is absolutely adorable (and very well behaved)! He also has great comedic timing as his laughs were always on point throughout the day and toasts.
The second time I reached for the kleenex was when Kyle’s dad spoke to the couple about what they’d been through together, including living with Kyle’s parents and Grandma as the couple raised their newborn son. As Kyle’s dad spoke of the next chapter in their lives with Kyle graduating this year from nursing school, and how although the family will be excited to see them move on together as a new family, that the house would be much too quiet without all the laughs, chaos, and family around. What an amazing moment to witness. Both Kyle and Kaytlin’s families surrounded them with such love on this day and gave the couple words of wisdom as they embark on this new journey.
And this is what it’s all about folks; love, family, strength, togetherness. I am so thankful to witness this every week with each of my couples and their families.
Congrats Kyle and Kaytlin! You both deserve all the happiness in the world!
