Hi and welcome to my online home! I am a photographer located in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm married to my wonderful hubby, Jon, and we have 7 fur babies: Kitty Amazing, Baby Kitty, Petunia, and China, our cats, Hank and Seymour, our dogs, and Junichiro, our hedgehog. Admittedly, Junichiro is more of a spiky baby than a fur baby. I love travel, nutella, donuts, cupcakes, (okay just bring me all the carbs alright?), reading, green tea, soccer, dancing, and soft pillow cases. I love having you, I hope you stay awhile.
Cylee and Justin met in a bar in San Diego 4 years ago. They were living across the country from each other, but fate brought them both to that spot at the same time. And they have been in love every since. Everyone thought Cylee was crazy to fly across the country to go to a Naval Ball with Justin after meeting him, but she knew she had found her real life prince charming. Who turned out to be even better than that Disney movies portray. And that’s why Cylee signed on to be forever Mrs. Lieutenant Peabody, Navy wife.
When I first spoke to Cylee and she told me they were getting married at the Wright House, I got all squealy because I was married at that same location only 5 years ago! So I had major nostalgia throughout the entire day.
When I arrived, Cylee and her bridesmaids were in the cutest robes getting ready and enjoying pampering their friend. And their hair was absolutely amazing!! Each one had beautiful flowers tucked into their hairdos. I could not get enough!
Then we got to have some fun doing a “first touch” between Justin and Cylee as Justin did not want to see Cylee before the ceremony. So we blind folded him in an elegant flower scarf (lol) so that he and Cylee could share a special moment together.
During the ceremony, the couple read each other hand written vows describing their hopes and dreams for the future and their dedication to one another. And I could totally relate as signing up to be a military wife is not an easy gig. I have watched my friends and my sister in law do it for years, and it takes endless love, patience, and optimism while they are gone for months at a time. But watching them throughout their day, I know they have what it takes to make it through those times.
And Cylee was initiated into the Navy the right way, through a proper sword entrance into the reception. As the couple kissed for the second time, in order to be allowed through the swords, one of Justin’s military friends tapped Cylee on the butt with the sword and yelled “Welcome to the Navy!” This was my favorite part, I was dying laughing!
Watching the couple dance the night away, I was reminded of when I danced there with my love only a few short years ago. It’s such a blessing to be part of so many happy beginnings. And as Cylee’s parents and grandparents danced as the longest married couples at the wedding, I knew this couple would be surrounded by my people who could give them important advice along the way.
Cheers to the happy couple and this amazing journey you’ve embarked on! And you two really are #twopeasinapod!
