Welcome,
To the blog

Hey there! I'm Felicia! I'm a luxury wedding photographer, pet momma, wife, and cupcake addict.  I photograph in Arizona, Washington and Worldwide. I would love to chat and get to know you better!

December 22, 2017

Hi and welcome to my online home! I am a photographer located in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm married to my wonderful hubby, Jon, and we have 7 fur babies: Kitty Amazing, Baby Kitty, Petunia, and China, our cats, Hank and Seymour, our dogs, and Junichiro, our hedgehog. Admittedly, Junichiro is more of a spiky baby than a fur baby. I love travel, nutella, donuts, cupcakes, (okay just bring me all the carbs alright?), reading, green tea, soccer, dancing, and soft pillow cases. I love having you, I hope you stay awhile.

Cynthia and Ben’s Wedding

As a photographer, words often fail me.  Which is why I have my camera; to express the things my words lack.  Today is one of those times.  Blogging is an exercise of faith for me, much like marriage is for the couples I capture. I try to put my heart out there and capture what my couples mean to me on their wedding day.

When we first met in a coffee shop back in March and Cynthia told me to look for the man in the pokemon (or something similar) shirt, I know I was off to a good start. And as Cynthia told me her dreams for her wedding including brightly colored flowers (yes!) and pink and blush gowns (more yes!), I knew it was going to be glorious to capture.

And as I learned that Ben was on staff at a local church, and that hehad proposed to Cynthia on the beach during a mission trip to Mexico, I knew that these two had quite the future ahead of them.  Between their outward and visible love for Jesus, for each other, and for the people around them, I know they are off to change the world.

Cynthia and Ben are a dynamic couple.  Every time I looked over they were making faces at each other.  Silly faces. Cute faces.  It’s clear they don’t take life too seriously together.  And guys, let me tell you that is an important trait to getting through many of life’s and marriages’ troubles.  But luckily when faces and words fail these too, they have music to fall back on. Because songs (especially for people like me) hold all the clever, beautiful, sad, funny things I want to say.  So when everyone seemed to have a song and instrument at the ready at Cynthia and Ben’s wedding, I was in awe.  I was standing among a group of talented musicians, and each performance was more beautiful than the next.  But there was one performance that won my heart.  When Cynthia told me her and Ben’s best man, Preston, had a surprise for him, I was so giddy. I love surprises! And I also love being in on the surprises! So when Cynthia stepped up to sing Ben a love song while Ben’s Best Man strummed it out on his guitar, I was swooning along to the music.  Maybe it’s because God gave me many gifts, but singing is definitely not one of them, that I love hearing other people sing.

It was a blast being goofy with Ben and Cynthia and their friends and family.  Even the parents couldn’t resist getting in on the sillyness.  But then I think, these two had to come from some people amazing, talented, silly, loving people! I mean, if you need proof, look below and pay special attention to those gorgeous wedding cakes that Ben’s Mom created!!

On those hard days ahead, as you two grow together and experience all life’s ups and downs together, remember those silly faces and how you felt on your wedding day, and the promises you made to each other to honor Jesus through your love, and I know you two will have a blessed life! Cheers to you both!
