Hi and welcome to my online home! I am a photographer located in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm married to my wonderful hubby, Jon, and we have 7 fur babies: Kitty Amazing, Baby Kitty, Petunia, and China, our cats, Hank and Seymour, our dogs, and Junichiro, our hedgehog. Admittedly, Junichiro is more of a spiky baby than a fur baby. I love travel, nutella, donuts, cupcakes, (okay just bring me all the carbs alright?), reading, green tea, soccer, dancing, and soft pillow cases. I love having you, I hope you stay awhile.
I’ve lived in Port Orchard almost 6 months now. But 3 of those months were spent traveling to Arizona for weddings. Now that I’m back, I’m exploring and finding new beauty at every turn.
Although Port Orchard is right on the Puget Sound and a mere 10 miles via boat from Seattle, it maintains a quiet, rural feel complete with horses, llamas, and endless nature. Plenty of fishing to keep my husband busy for the next bazillion years.
This made me extra excited to capture my first Port Orchard wedding, only a few miles from my house. And as I drove out to Trophy Lake Golf and Casting Club, I knew I was in for a gorgeous setting. Waterfalls, a golf course, and bridges over serene waterways made for the perfect backdrop for Maureen and Bob’s wedding day.
Bob and Maureen are such a pleasure to be around. They are joyful, friendly, and know how to have fun with their friend and family. They radiate love for one another. That strong, stable, endless kind of love that you wait a life time for. Because they have waited a lifetime for that love.
Bob lived across the street from Maureen growing up. Bob was best friends with Maureen’s younger brother, Alan, and Bob’s younger brother, John, was best friends with Maureen’s other brother, Wayne. But as Maureen was two years older than Bob, Maureen wasn’t much interested in her younger brother’s best friend.
However as life continued on, the families stayed close. Bob was the best man in Alan’s, wedding. He was known as Uncle Bob to Maureen’s nieces and nephews. So you can imagine their confusion when 7 years ago, Maureen and Bob finally started dating (as they thought they were already related! lol).
Life led these two all over before bringing them back together in Tacoma, Washington. After rekindling their friendship, they realized that actually, they were perfect for each other. And their families were thrilled as finally the two families are officially bound together forever.
Then, after 45 years of friendship, Bob officially proposed to Maureen on Christmas Eve in 2016, in front of their families.
This story gives me the chills guys. It’s just one of those perfect stories about fate and faith that God has it all worked out. That although we go through trials that may feel like the end, and even once we’ve felt like we’ve lived so much of our lives already, there is always more out there. More fun. More love. More laughter. More joy.
Their wedding day was absolutely perfect. From the details to the bridesmaids dresses to the blush flowers, it was everything it should be for such an amazing couple. Everyone was so excited to celebrate this couple and their lifelong friendship turned marriage.
To top off the evening, the bridesmaids had prepared a flash mob dance to Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars to surprise the couple. Then, all the guests joined in as they also had learned the moves! It was perfect.
But then there was more. What’s the step above perfect? Because this happened when Maureen sang a song she wrote to Bob. About their love. She was accompanied by her brother’s playing guitars. Because Maureen is in a band!! How cool is that?! Her voice had everyone transfixed, but no one more so than Bob.
After Maureen and Bob ended their night running through a tunnel of sparklers, they left to embark on this new journey. I couldn’t be happier for them, and I’m so excited to see where this new chapter takes them.
So enjoy reliving their day! Because I sure will!
