Hi and welcome to my online home! I am a photographer located in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm married to my wonderful hubby, Jon, and we have 7 fur babies: Kitty Amazing, Baby Kitty, Petunia, and China, our cats, Hank and Seymour, our dogs, and Junichiro, our hedgehog. Admittedly, Junichiro is more of a spiky baby than a fur baby. I love travel, nutella, donuts, cupcakes, (okay just bring me all the carbs alright?), reading, green tea, soccer, dancing, and soft pillow cases. I love having you, I hope you stay awhile.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
Nothing could be truer to a couple like Lynzie and Justin. When Lynzie was diagnosed with complex medical issues, she was not sure that she would find a man like Justin, let alone share a beautiful child with him named Harlow. But as they were faithful to God, God was faithful to them and blessed them with each other to support and love each other through the good times and bad times. To hold each other’s hands through the scary hospital stays and the questions about what the future holds. But as everyone’s speeches and toasts detailed, this was special union between two incredible people.
Lynzie’s childhood pastor even flew in to officiate the wedding. Lynzie’s pastors who had witnessed first hand Lynzie’s struggles and triumphs. Which makes sealing a union between two people brought together by God even more special. And then Lynzie’s bridesmaid, Torie, read a beautiful poem about love and faithfulness and Lynzie that made me tear up. And just in case there was a dry eye left, Lynzie and Justin baptized their beautiful baby, Harlow, during the ceremony, with Harlow’s Godparents, Kathy and Joe. Because today wasn’t just about a couple, it was about a new family and a community surrounding them full of love and support.
Then the Matron of Honor, Mikahl, gave her speech, which reminded me that it’s our friends and family who loved us first that prepare us for marriage. And as Mikahl looked at Lynzie and said “You are my person,” that message was made clear. Because it’s our best friends and family who guide us to the one that God has planned for us. By teaching us to forgive, love, clean our dishes, be gracious, laugh off the little things, support one another, and hang pictures when asked (or is that just an issue in my marriage?)
When Justin and Lynzie look at each other and then down at Harlow, it’s a reminder that love is the greatest gift of all. And love takes us by surprise even when we thought maybe it wasn’t in the cards for us. So here’s to Lynzie and Justin! And may your days always be filled with God’s reminder of His love through the love you two share for one another.
